THE STORY BEHIND OVERCOAT V3

With the introduction of Ceramic V3 and its superior hydrophobic properties, it was not recommended to apply Overcoat V2 over it, as Ceramic V3 had the best performing hydrophobics. In order to maintain the same level of hydrophobics and self cleaning ability that we are seeing with Ceramic V3, we have had to make significant improvements to Overcoat. The new Overcoat V3 matches the hydrophobics and self cleaning properties of Ceramic V3. We’ve borrowed what we have learned with the extensive development of Ceramic V3, and applied it to Overcoat. The Ceramic V3 has had an overwhelmingly positive response because of its hydrophobics and self cleaning properties, with the new Overcoat V3 it allows us to extend these properties across our range of coatings.rnrnThe main properties of Overcoat V3 was compatibility with our other coatings, ease of use, and extreme self cleaning and hydrophobic properties. Compatibility with our entire range of coatings means that this product is a universal top coating that can be used to immediately elevate the hydrophobic and self cleaning properties of any of our coatings, or as a maintenance topper to make sure that the coating properties are maintained. Ease of use is something that we are paying a lot of attention to with the new developments in our lineup. Overcoat V3 is extremely easy and forgiving to use. The main improvements with Overcoat V3 has been the self cleaning and hydrophobic properties, which are now best-in-class amongst top coating products.

The super low free surface energy of FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT V3 causes the surface to feel silky smooth to the touch and display super hydrophobic properties. FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT V3’s sole purpose is to add great water sheeting and self-cleaning properties to any of our ceramic coatings. FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT V3 is intended to be applied on top of our other coatings and is the outermost layer of protection. INCLUDED 30ml (1oz) FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT V3 CAUTIONS Always wear respirator & gloves during application. Ensure application area is free of loose contamination. PREPPING THE SURFACE Thoroughly clean vehicle using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH or FEYNLAB® PURE RINSELESS. Follow with a topical decontamination clay treatment using FEYNLAB® PRIME. If necessary, use a ferrous iron removal product to remove all embedded iron deposits. After polishing paint to desired level, remove all polish oils using FEYNLAB® PANEL PREP to ensure optimal bonding and durability of the coating. DIRECTIONS If applying over another FEYNLAB® coating, wait 2 hours (minimum of 1.5 and a maximum of 4 hours) for the base coating to set up. Then apply in the same application pattern as the base coating. Prior to application, place vehicle in a well-lit, temperature-controlled 50°F-85°F (10°C-30°C), & contamination free environment. Have plenty (4 or more) new microfiber towels, 2-3 microfiber sponge applicators, or 1-2 foam applicators on hand before application. Once the car is prepped, we recommend taping off and protecting all unapproved surfaces. By performing this step, you minimize the risk of etching by the solvents in FEYNLAB® OVERCOAT V3 on unapproved surfaces, such as rubber lining around windows and doors. Avoid these surfaces with OVERCOAT V3 and wipe off immediately if any contact occurs. Shake OVERCOAT V3 vigorously for 30 seconds before use. Inspect the neck of the bottle for any hardened coating crystals. Carefully clean the neck of the bottle with a microfiber towel if any appear, as these can drop on to your applicator pad, and scratch the surface during application. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Apply enough OVERCOAT V3 to a microfiber applicator to fully cover a single panel only, such as a door or half a hood. Make a “+” (plus) sign with product in the middle of the panel, then wipe around the boundaries of the section creating a frame. Next, fill in the framed area with slightly overlapping horizontal (left to right) straight lines over the entire panel. After, switch to vertical overlapping lines. This cross-hatching pattern ensures even application. Apply to 2 to 3 panels before wiping off OVERCOAT V3 following same pattern of application, using two clean microfiber towels. Towel A (left hand) will remove the majority of coating residue. Towel B (right hand) will remove any remaining residue, revealing a clear surface. If the surface is difficult to wipe clear or appears hazy, reduce the application area. Recommended Maximum Area of Application: One panel at a time, then wiping off in same pattern as application. This will help reduce the chance for the coating to “shadow.” FINAL INSPECTION Carefully inspect all finished panels for any leftover coating residue (high spots) during the final wipe. Commonly, edges, emblems, and other tight areas may contain some remaining residue. High spots are much easier to remove if caught within a 20-40 min window after the final wipe than later, when the coating has set- up and curing has started. INFRARED CURING (RECOMMENDED, BUT NOT REQUIRED) OVERCOAT V3 Alone Bake each panel with an IR lamp to reach a surface temperature of 140°F (60°C) for 15 min at a distance of ~ 30″ from the panel. OVERCOAT V3 over Another Coating If applying over another coating, install base coating layer first. Wait 2 hours, then install OVERCOAT V3 in the same application pattern as the base coating. If IR baking is desired, immediately bake each panel with an IR lamp to reach a surface temperature of 140°F (60°C) for 15min at a distance of ~ 30″ from the panel after OVERCOAT V3 is applied to all surfaces. POST APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Avoid any incidental water exposure for 24 hours. If it occurs, gently wipe water off the surface. Avoid all chemicals including car washes for 7 days. Wash & Maintain using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH or FEYNLAB® PURE RINSELESS. CLIMATE NOTES All FEYNLAB® Coatings are subject to different application dwell and cure time windows due to humidity and temperature conditions. In General, the higher the humidity level the quicker the coating will cure. If humidity level approaches 75% or higher, consider lessening the recommended dwell and wipe times for the coating. Additionally, moving air will decrease coating dwell times for areas it contacts. Therefore, it is recommended to stop all moving air as much as possible during coating applications to ensure consistency for all portions of the vehicle. Coatings are best applied in temperature-controlled environments of 50°F-85°F (10°C-30°C), with humidity as low as possible.
