Additional Information
The Lake Country HDO Black Finishing Pad with CCS allows you to remove very light imperfections, finishing the paint down to perfections! This pad has an aggressive cell structure, but it is extremely soft in density, which allows you to achieve an amazing deep clarity finish on even the softest of paints!
The pads in our HDO (Heavy Duty Orbital) line are perfectly balanced, cushioned, and feature thinner foam than the traditional foam pad. The thinner foam reduces foam movement which will reduce heat (10% cooler) which can cause hazing and micro-marring while polishing. These pads have a 70 degree beveled, angled edge. This design prevents pad “rolling”, allowing the pad to stay flat on the surface. The open cell cooling chamber in the center of the pad is another great feature that helps keep the pad running at cooler temps, which increases durability and results in better polishing for the end user.
Traditional foam pads are lower-performing, due to polishes getting trapped below the face of the pad, causing the pad cells to clog. The CCS (Collapsed Cell Structure) Technology solves this problem with partially closed foam cells or “dimples” on the face of the pad. These “dimples” capture and gradually release polish as needed during the polishing process. This feature tends to reduce surface tension, pad skipping, and heat generation with less surface area on the face of the pad being in contact with the painted surface. Less surface area means less friction, which in turn increases polishing performance!
Frequently Asked Questions
The HDO finishing pad features thinner foam construction that reduces heat by 10% compared to traditional pads. This prevents hazing and micro-marring during polishing. The pad also includes a 70-degree beveled edge that prevents rolling and keeps the pad flat on surfaces. An open cell cooling chamber in the center maintains cooler operating temperatures for better durability and performance.
CCS (Collapsed Cell Structure) technology features partially closed foam cells that create dimples on the pad face. These dimples capture and gradually release polish during the process. This reduces surface tension, prevents pad skipping, and generates less heat. The reduced contact area creates less friction, which significantly improves polishing performance compared to standard foam pads.
FEYNLAB offers the Lake Country HDO black finishing pad in both 5-inch and 6-inch sizes. These options accommodate different backing plate configurations and allow you to choose the right size for your specific polishing equipment and project requirements.
Yes, this finishing pad is specifically designed for soft paints. It combines an aggressive cell structure with extremely soft density. This unique combination allows you to achieve deep clarity finishes even on the most delicate paint surfaces. The pad removes very light imperfections while maintaining paint integrity.
This black finishing pad excels at removing very light imperfections and creating perfect paint finishes. It's designed as a final polishing step to achieve deep clarity and flawless results. The pad works best for fine polishing work rather than heavy correction tasks.
The open cell cooling chamber prevents polish from getting trapped below the pad face, which typically causes clogging in traditional foam pads. The cooling system maintains lower operating temperatures while the CCS dimples manage polish distribution. This combination keeps the pad cells clear and functioning properly throughout the polishing process.
FEYNLAB's Lake Country HDO pads offer superior performance through advanced engineering features. The combination of CCS technology, cooling chambers, and beveled edges provides better results than standard pads. You get reduced heat generation, prevented pad rolling, improved polish distribution, and excellent durability. These features make them ideal for professional-quality paint finishing work.
