Black trim restorer is a specialized product designed to bring faded plastic trim back to its original black color. FEYNLAB® Plastic Black Ultra uses ceramic-based compounds to penetrate the plastic surface and restore the deep black appearance while providing protection against future UV damage and weathering.
Trim restorer penetrates and rejuvenates the plastic material while black spray paint creates a surface coating that can chip or peel. Plastic Black Ultra restores the natural properties of the plastic for a factory-like finish that flexes with the material and resists cracking or flaking over time.
Black plastic restorer works on exterior trim pieces, bumper trim, door handles, mirror housings, wheel arch linings, and other unpainted black plastic components. FEYNLAB® Plastic Black Ultra is safe for textured and smooth plastic surfaces that have become gray or faded from sun exposure.
Plastic Black Ultra provides lasting restoration due to its ceramic-enhanced formula that bonds with the plastic surface. The restored black color typically maintains its appearance for several months to over a year, depending on exposure conditions and vehicle use patterns.
FEYNLAB® Plastic Black Ultra is formulated to be safe on various automotive plastic types including polypropylene, ABS, and other common exterior trim materials. The ceramic-based formula will not stain or damage properly prepared plastic surfaces when applied according to instructions.
Car black plastic restorer creates a natural, OEM-like satin finish that matches the original factory appearance. Plastic Black Ultra avoids the artificial high-gloss look of some products, instead delivering the authentic matte to semi-gloss finish that most automotive trim originally had.
Black auto trim restorer can be applied to exterior door trim, bumper strips, side moldings, window trim, grille accents, and other unpainted black plastic components. Focus on areas that show gray or faded coloring from UV exposure and weathering effects.
After restoration with Plastic Black Ultra, regular washing with gentle car soap helps maintain the restored appearance. The ceramic-enhanced formula provides built-in protection, but occasional touch-ups may be needed in high-wear areas or after extended UV exposure. CAUTIONS
Always wear respirator & gloves during application. Ensure the application area is free of loose contamination.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Thoroughly clean vehicle using FEYNLAB® PURE WASH or PURE RINSELESS. If needed, follow with a topical decontamination clay treatment using FEYNLAB® PRIME. If deeper cleaning is desired, use FEYNLAB PANEL PREP. Prior to application place vehicle in a well-lit, temperature-controlled 50°F-85°F (10°C-30°C) & contamination free environment.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
It is best to work on a few (2-3) medium sized panels at a time, especially if in heat or direct sun:
Thoroughly shake the bottle before use, making sure to thoroughly mix pigment with coating.
Using the microfiber applicator, apply a small amount of PLASTIC BLACK ULTRA and work into the surface. The amount of product should be enough to evenly coat the area without over saturation.
Allow plastic to dwell and seep in for 5-10 min or apply as much as needed in a 5-10 minute window. After 5 min, go back to application starting point, evening out surface, and removing excess product.
Multiple Coats for EXTREMELY Faded Trim: Allow application to cure for at least 12 - 24hrs between additional coats.
Note: The amount of PLASTIC BLACK ULTRA required will vary based upon the overall type of plastic and the starting condition. More oxidized faded plastics may require more products or multiple applications.
FINAL INSPECTION
Be sure to carefully inspect all finished panels for any leftover coating residue (high spots) during the final wipe. Commonly edges, emblems, and other tight areas may contain some remaining residue. High spots are much easier to remove if caught within a 20-40 min window after the final wipe, than later when the coating has set, and curing has started. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to cure surfaces in the sun right after application for as long as possible.
POST APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Avoid any incidental water exposure for 4 hours. If it does occur, gently wipe water off the surface.
Avoid all chemicals including car washes for 7 days.
CLIMATE NOTES
All FEYNLAB® Coatings are subject to different dwell and curing time windows due to humidity and temperature. In General, the higher the humidity level the quicker the coating will cure. If humidity level approaches 80% or higher, consider lessening the recommended dwell and wipe times for the coating.
